Brexit and the future of regionalism

Prof Zheng Yongnian, Director of the East Asian Institute at NUS, examined Britain's decision to leave the European Union, and opined that this is a precursor to changes in regional and world orders. He added that if political leaders fail to recognise the radical change in regional and global politics that is sweeping the world, history will repeat itself and the world will experience turmoil of the kind previously witnessed during the collapse of imperialism.
