Building uncertainty, flexibility into infrastructure megaprojects

Asst Prof Michel-Alexandre Cardin from the Dept of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NUS Faculty of Engineering and Prof Joseph Cherian from NUS Business School discussed about the uncertainty of success in building infrastructure megaprojects. They highlighted that one promising but often underused solution is offered by Real Options Analysis (ROA), and noted that researchers such as themselves are pushing the development of new tools, inspired by the ROA theory that are better situated to the realities of infrastructure finance, evaluation and engineering.
