Caring for caregivers of persons with disabilities

Mr Justin Lee, Senior Research Fellow and Mr Andrew Lim, Research Assistant, both from the Institute of Policy Studies at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS highlighted that caregivers of persons with disabilities often embark on a lonely and challenging journey and outlined three suggestions on caring for such caregivers – proactive support given to caregivers by caregiver support agencies; increase the availability of disability-specific courses on caregiving; and recognition and support of caregivers’ own initiatives to help one another.
