China and Singapore: Looking back to understand the future

Prof Wang Gungwu, Chairman of the East Asian Institute and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS, highlighted that Singaporeans must understand Chinese nationals’ view of what China is, just as China must understand Singapore’s self-image as a multicultural nation with a global outlook.
