Distinguished Visiting Prof Asit K. Biswas of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS and Dr Cecilia Tortajada, Senior Research Fellow from the Institute of Water Policy at the School opined that the impact of floods in China can be significantly reduced by proper land use planning and flood management. They noted that it will take political will, time, money, and good holistic planning and implementation before flood damage in China can be significantly reduced.
