COVID-19 can widen gaps in children’s development

Provost-Chair Prof Wei-Jun Jean Yeung from the Dept of Sociology and Founding Director of the Centre for Family and Population Research at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, shared insights from a longitudinal study in Singapore that COVID-19 and home-based learning could exacerbate socio-economic inequalities, leading to wider learning gaps in children’s development.
