CRL issue highlights need for more debate on environmental decisions

Dr Chong Kwek Yan from the Dept of Biological Sciences at the NUS Faculty of Science, and Dr Giam Xingli from the University of Washington, discussed the proposal to construct the Cross Island Line under a part of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, and noted that the issue has raised questions about environmental governance, decision-making and the meaning of nature reserves in Singapore.
