Blazing the trail in cuesports: First female NUS athlete to join national development women’s squad
Debunking gender and social stereotypes, Cheryl Hoe has broken the mould and become the first female NUS athlete to join Cuesports Singapore’s National Development Women’s Squad.
With the support of her TeamNUS teammates and coaches, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Year 2 NUS Business student has come a long way from the days in which she would be a bundle of nerves before competitions.
One of Cheryl’s goals is to redefine the sport as an intellectual and gender-neutral game. She aspires to represent Singapore in her sport on the international stage in future, and inspire other female cuesports players to do the same.
