Developments in East Asia after the South China Sea ruling
Prof Zheng Yongnian of the NUS East Asian Institute discussed the current state of affairs in East Asia following the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague’s ruling against China’s claims in the South China Sea. He noted that even though China has endeavoured to calm tensions in the hotly contested waters, it will continue to grapple with the South China Sea issue.
