Engineering social change

Dr Teo Ho Pin, Mayor of North West District, engaged 40 NUS Engineering students at Mayor’s Network @ North West – Youth Leaders on 14 September. Themed “Engineering as an agent for social change”, the networking session highlighted the critical role of engineering while serving as a platform for youth leaders to encourage volunteering and promote ground-up initiatives.

Five students from the Design-Centric Programme (DCP) who had participated in the Hyperloop Pod Competition in the US earlier this year — a trip supported by the North West Community Development Council — shared their experiences with the attendees.
