Flu virus and how it spreads

Asst Prof Thai Tran from the Dept of Physiology and Prof Wang De Yun from the Dept of Otolaryngology at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine shared about their study which shows that the flu virus replicates itself and spreads by hijacking a unique class of protein called CD151 in the body’s respiratory cell. This discovery may pave the way to developing more effective flu medicines.
