Green Warrior and “Mr Floating Solar”: Thomas Reindl

In 2016, the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (Seris) at the National University of Singapore unveiled its floating solar test bed – a 1 megawatt-peak (MWp) installation - at Tengeh Reservoir. Positive results from this testbed paved the way for a larger 60MWp floating solar farm at Tengeh, which opened in July 2021. This groundbreaking project has positioned Seris and Singapore as leaders in the area.

Deputy CEO of Seris Dr Thomas Reindl, who led this impressive feat, shares his insights on the immense potential of solar energy. He is hopeful that Singapore could become a world leader in “urban solar” through innovative PV technologies.
