Homecoming jazzes up

This year’s Homecoming event at Bukit Timah Campus was literally “all about jazz”. More than 1,000 NUS alumni dined and gamely danced the night away to music by Singapore’s very own critically acclaimed jazz musician Mr Jeremy Monteiro and his band.

Former students of NUS’ historical campus formed the bulk of the crowd at the “Jazz It Up @ Bukit Timah” event on 2 July. Also in attendance were NUS Chairman Mr Wong Ngit Liong and NUS Trustee Ms Chong Siak Ching; NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan; NUS Deputy President for Academic Affairs and Provost Professor Tan Eng Chye and members of the senior management.

One of the highlights of the evening was a choir performance by Raffles Hall Alumni, comprising hall residents and resident fellows from the 1960s and 1970s. Jazz artiste Melissa Tham, celebrity alumna Ms Dawn Yip, and the NUS Alumni Sing-Along kept the crowd entertained.

The annual event is organised by NUS Alumni Relations and co-hosted by NUS Law and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
