India’s Budget long on promises, short on resources

Dr Duvvuri Subbarao and Dr Amitendu Palit from the Institute of South Asian Studies at NUS discussed India’s Budget and observed that it is evident that the political urge to appease core constituencies has led to compromise on fiscal discipline, adding that the fiscal slippage will complicate macroeconomic management and choke investment sentiments.
