IPS survey on race relations

A nationwide survey on race relations headed by Dr Mathew Mathews from the Institute of Policy Studies at NUS showed that more than seven in 10 Singaporeans believe that a person's ethnicity does not influence his or her success. The survey, which polled 2,000 Singapore citizens and permanent residents aged 21 and above, also revealed that racism remains a problem for some Singaporeans, with one in three among minority races having felt racially discriminated against.
