Lending start-up offers credit risk assessment

The Risk Management Institute (RMI) at NUS has developed a credit-rating default algorithm for online lending start-up Validus Capital to provide a better assessment of borrowers' credit rating. Prof Duan Jin-Chuan from RMI has studied about 6,000 listed companies in the world to assess their credit rating and used this database to provide Validus with data across similar companies in terms of size and in a similar economy as Singapore.
