‘Mum wouldn’t have believed I got into medical school’

Darren Leong lost his mother to cancer nine years ago and barely made it to the Normal (Academic) stream at the Primary School Leaving Examination. But with determination and support from his family, he went on to study Biomedical Science at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and has been accepted to read medicine at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
