Back to a focus on the long-term future

Dr Adrian Kuah, Director of Futures Office at Office of the President at NUS commented that in economic growth, a theodicy of sorts seems to be in operation – there are necessary evils we have to commit and endure in order to get to the promised land. The climate crisis drives home the inconvenient truth that the open future was always a fiction; there was always to be a reckoning and a price to pay.
