Local university teams create protein membranes

Assoc Prof Tong Yen Wah, from the Dept of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NUS' Faculty of Engineering, and his team from the NUS Environmental Research Institute, have developed a flat-sheet aquaporin membrane that could lower the cost of water purification here by up to 30 per cent.
