Pre-school, tertiary education to be more affordable

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced at his National Day Rally speech that the Ministry of Education will increase government bursaries for new and existing lower-income students, who will pay reduced university and polytechnic school fees from the next academic year. Lower-income medical students will receive more bursaries than those for other university courses. In an interview with CNA News, NUS President Professor Tan Eng Chye affirmed that the University will continue to maintain the same level of financial aid to students.
