No clear-cut single definition of human rights'

At the fourth Institute Policy Studies-Nathan Lecture by Ambassador-at-Large Bilahari Kausikan, he discussed the geopolitics of human rights and cited examples in the US and Europe. Ambassador Kausikan opined that democracy and human rights are important but contested and sometimes internally contradictory concepts that may create new problems even if they solve others.
