NUS and China Mobile International to collaborate on digital transformation of education
NUS and China Mobile International (CMI) have inked an agreement to jointly build on the technological advancements brought about by Industry 4.0. The areas of collaboration include exploring technology to enhance the learning experience for students at NUS, conducting joint research in Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Robotics and Internet-of-Things, as well as nurturing talents and leaders in the telecommunications industry through CMI’s Summer Internship and Global Trainee programmes. Under the partnership, NUS would also provide training for CMI’s global workforce.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Professor Susanna Leong, Vice Provost (Masters' Programmes & Lifelong Education) and Dean of the School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) at NUS and Mr Shen Wei Zhong, CMI’s Director and Executive Vice President, at a ceremony on 11 August 2022.
In his speech at the signing ceremony, NUS President Professor Tan Eng Chye, said, “Such collaborations between NUS and the industry are a critical part of the University’s vision of becoming a leading global university shaping the future. With our range and depth of academic expertise across many disciplines, as well as our rich networks and connections with academic institutions, industry, enterprises and government agencies, NUS is uniquely positioned to create and convene platforms that bring together and connect talents, ideas, resources and opportunities.”
