NUS Business School Charity Run raises close to $130,000 to support student bursaries and environmental causes

More than 750 participants took part in the 2023 Bizad Charity Run on 11 March 2023, raising close to $130,000 that will go towards student bursaries and sustainable causes.

Themed ‘Race to Rescue’, the NUS Business School’s annual flagship event, jointly organised by the NUS Business School Alumni Association and NUS Bizad Club, comprised two categories: a competitive 10 km run and a 5 km fun run, as well as a carnival of games and activities to raise awareness about sustainable living and environmental conservation.

Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, who flagged-off the run, said, "As an alumna of the Business School, I am heartened to see how the school continues to care for the community and the environment through initiatives such as the Bizad Charity Run. We have a shared responsibility in achieving our climate goals, and we need the ideas and energy of all stakeholders to build a more inclusive and sustainable Singapore.”

Over the past 12 years, the Bizad Charity Run has attracted 12,000 participants and raised over $2.2 million. This has translated to more than 400 student bursary awards and support for 13 social service agencies.

The fundraising drive is ongoing and donations can be made at Bizad Charity Run till 30 April 2023.
