NUS team’s AI engine gets top-level global ranking

The software Apache Singa, a platform for deep learning and an artificial intelligence model that continually analyses data similar to how a human would draw conclusions, became the first software tool from Southeast Asia to be ranked in the top 300 projects by the Apache Software Foundation, the largest open-source software community in the world. The software was built by a team of NUS researchers led by Distinguished Prof Ooi Beng Chin from the Dept of Computer Science at NUS School of Computing.
