"One Belt, One Road" initiative and the "rebalancing" of economy and security

Prof Zheng Yongnian, Director of the East Asian Institute at NUS, opined that the implementation of US' rebalancing to Asia policy has not only led to strained Sino-US ties, but also resulted in tensions between China and Southeast Asian nations, especially the ones that have competing claims with China in the South China Sea issue.
