Peter Ho appointed as S R Nathan Fellow

Mr Ho will be pursuing research on public policy and governance as an S R Nathan Fellow

NUS Trustee Mr Peter Ho, who is Senior Advisor to the Singapore Government’s Centre for Strategic Futures, has been appointed the 2016/17 S R Nathan Fellow for the Study of Singapore. The S R Nathan Fellowship was set up in 2013 by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) at NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

As an S R Nathan Fellow, Mr Ho will be pursuing research relating to public policy and governance in Singapore. He will deliver a series of IPS-Nathan Lectures on his research findings and policy ideas at the University during the 2016/2017 academic year. The lectures aim to further enrich the vibrant intellectual and cultural discourse on campus by advancing public understanding and discussion of issues of national interest.

The second S R Nathan Fellow Mr Bilahari Kausikan, Ambassador-at-large at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who was appointed for 2015/16, concluded his series of lectures in May 2016.

The S R Nathan Fellowship for the Study of Singapore recognises the unique contributions of Mr S R Nathan — Singapore’s sixth and longest-serving President — to public service and the advancement of Singapore. It serves to advance the Institute’s core mission to research and analyse policy issues and challenges; build bridges between key thought leaders; and communicate its work to a wider audience.
