Proportion of older adults with multiple chronic diseases surges
The Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE) at Duke-NUS Medical School and the Ministry of Health are conducting a “Transitions in Health, Employment, Social Engagement, and Inter-generational Transfers in Singapore (SIGNS) Study” which found that the proportion of older adults with three or more chronic diseases nearly doubled from 2009 to 2017. CARE is conducting the second wave of the study, which is scheduled to be completed this year.
