Prospects for China’s ‘targeted measures in poverty alleviation’

Prof Zheng Yongnian, Director of the East Asian Institute at NUS, discussed China’s efforts at poverty alleviation. He noted that Singapore had been very successful in alleviating poverty through the Group Representation Constituency scheme and Singapore Medical Council, as Members of the Parliament could render help to residents who are truly in need.
