Recast the S'porean identity based on inclusivity, fairness - not materialism

Dr Adrian W J Kuah from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS discussed the problem arising from Singapore’s national identity being defined in material terms. Dr Kuah opined that unless we renegotiate a Singaporean-ness that is underpinned by fairness, inclusivity and diversity, without naively denigrating material concerns, growing social cleavages and the ensuing instability will be the Achilles’ heel of our global city.
