Robotic glove invented by NUS researchers helps patients restore hand movements

A team from NUS has invented a smart robotic glove with rubbery "fingers" designed to help patients with rehabilitation. The team comprises Asst Prof Raye Yeow from the Dept of Biomedical Engineering at NUS Faculty of Engineering, Dr Lim Jeong Hoon from the Dept of Medicine at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, as well as two engineering students. Plans are underway to commercialise the invention, and to conduct a six-month trial on 30 stroke patients to look at how effective the glove is in helping them recover hand function.
