Seizure of armoured vehicles over-speculated

Assoc Prof Wang Jiangyu from NUS Faculty of Law discussed the incident where a batch of nine Singapore Armed Forces armoured vehicles were seized in Hong Kong, and the commonly-held belief that this is China’s “warning” to Singapore for its stance on the South China Sea issue. He opined that it is unlikely for China to instigate this incident, despite the relationship between both countries being under a certain degree of tension in recent times.
