Singapore scientists grow 'mini-brains'

A team of researchers jointly led by Asst Prof Shawn Je from Duke-NUS Medical School and Prof Ng Huck Hui from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, has cultivated ‘mini-brains’ for research. It is hoped that the brains, which are no bigger than a grain of rice, will be able to help researchers develop treatments for, and conduct studies into, Parkinson's disease and other ageing-related brain diseases.
