Sponsors’ conflicts symptomatic of a bigger issue

Assoc Prof Mak Yuen Teen from the Dept of Accounting at the NUS Business School and Mr Mark Lai, an alumnus of the school and Mr Chew Yi Hong opined that sponsors should be independent and free from conflicts of interest but this is debatable, given the current fees for sponsorship activities.
