S’pore once named as ‘tricky place to stay’

Assoc Prof Peter Borschberg from the Dept of History at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences shared at a public lecture that the toponym of Singapura and its many variants have been taken apart and understood in different ways. The lecture, which is part of the ongoing Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre’s lecture series called 1819 and Before: Singapore’s Pasts, was moderated by Adj Assoc Prof Kwa Chong Guan, also from the same department.
