Professor Simon Chesterman, Dean of the NUS Faculty of Law, discussed the challenges of using artificial intelligence within justice systems. He pointed out that while many decisions might be properly handed to machines, the final exercise of discretion, and public control over legal processes should be transferred only when we are prepared to transfer political control.
