The weakest link in the COVID-19 pandemic

Prof Teo Yik Ying, Dean of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at NUS, discussed the difficulties that poorer countries would face during the COVID-19 pandemic, including inadequate medical systems and lack of personal protective equipment for healthcare professionals. He opined that countries with more developed medical systems should help poorer countries by sharing expertise and resources with them, as the world’s defence against COVID-19 is only as strong as its weakest link.
