Virtual patients for therapeutic drug trials

Assoc Prof Eric Chan Chun Yong, pharmaceutical scientist and Dean’s Chair, and Miss Eleanor Cheong, a PhD student from the Dept of Pharmacy at NUS Faculty of Science, used modelling and different doses of drugs on virtual patients to test effectiveness before treating the actual patients. This maximises the benefits of treatments while minimising side effects.
