Moving the future

Prof Tan (left) and Prof Bras launched the Centre for Next Generation Logistics

The Centre for Next Generation Logistics, a joint collaboration between NUS and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in the US to study logistics and supply chain systems, was launched on 24 July. Present at the launch were NUS Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost Professor Tan Eng Chye and Georgia Tech Provost Professor Rafael Luis Bras.

The virtual Centre is a timely initiative as the country strives to stay at the forefront of supply chain and logistics innovation. Working closely with government agencies and the industry, it will focus on knowledge discovery including the development of models for evaluating the value of information in supply chains, and company-specific research for enhanced competitiveness.

To date, the Centre has completed three projects, one each for DHL-Singapore, SDV Logistics and Zalora Marketplace.
