Assuaging the armed forces in Myanmar

Assoc Prof Terence Lee from the Dept of Political Science at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences discussed the decisive electoral victory by National League for Democracy and opined that the key to sustaining democratisation in Myanmar is not to curtail or make demands of the Tatmadaw. He added that democratic consolidation is instead likely to be more successful by assuaging the military.
