Can China avoid the Kindleberger Trap?

Prof Zheng Yongnian, Director of the NUS East Asian Institute at NUS, discussed about China’s ability to provide global public goods on its own. He opined that a good way for China to avoid the Kindleberger Trap and become a leader of globalisation efforts would be to integrate fully with the international economic order, so as to earn the trust of other countries.
