Change in Australia’s diplomatic stance points the way for others

Dr Chen Gang, Senior Research Fellow from the East Asian Institute at NUS discussed the shift in Australia's diplomatic strategy towards China as it moves away from being a loyal ally to the US. He noted that Australia is a non-claimant in the territorial disputes in South China Sea and with its economy highly dependent on China, it is therefore prudent to adopt a more balanced and pragmatic relation with China.
