Local firm develops meat alternative from plants

The founder of Life3 Biotech, Mr Ricky Lin worked out of NUS’ food science and technology lab and was advised by Dr Leong Lai Peng, Senior Lecturer from the Food Science & Technology Programme of NUS Faculty of Science, in developing a protein-rich offering derived from plants but which tastes like chicken. Tentatively called Veego, it is possibly the closest made-in-Singapore product to “clean meat”.
