A pet at home

Assoc Prof Thang Leng Leng of the Dept of Japanese Studies at the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences noted that in Japan, there is an increase in elderly and married couples without children who own pets, and highlighted that while pets can be good companions, the love and concern from family members are the most precious, and cannot be replaced.
