Streaming may end, but will parents’ behaviour change?

Dr Kelvin Seah Kah Cheng from the Dept of Economics at NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences discussed the merits of subject-based banding and cautioned that with the changes, we might have a situation where the better-performing children and the poorer-performing ones end up clustering separately in certain schools, increasing polarisation and reducing diversity.
