Students probe claims of wrongful conviction

The Innocence Project, a student initiative set up by NUS law students in April 2013 to investigate claims of wrongful criminal conviction, had a first successful outcome when a jailed man was cleared of drug consumption in 2014. The project has received 34 applications to re-examine cases in 2014, a five-fold jump compared with the seven it had received in 2013.
