Twin solutions to Asia’s demographic problems

Visiting Prof Vinod Thomas from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS discussed the policy responses that Asia should adopt to address its varied demographic challenges. He opined that notwithstanding the vast regional and country differences, a combination of more open immigration policies and efforts to raise labour productivity can provide win-win opportunities.
