Why worry about China becoming a world leader?

Assoc Prof Wang Jiangyu from NUS Faculty of Law, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Asian Legal Studies at NUS Law, noted that some observers are worried about the possibility of China replacing the US as the new world leader. However, he opined that China is more interested in becoming a “partner” within international society, which means it might not take on a leadership role similar to that of the US.
