NUS Ranked Second in Latest Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings
The National University of Singapore (NUS) maintained its position as one of Asia's top two universities in the latest Asia University Rankings published by the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine.
The rankings, which are based on the same performance indicators and methodology as the established THE World University Rankings, uses 13 separate performance indicators to examine each university's strengths against its core missions of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. According to THE Asia University Rankings 2014, the top 100 universities in Asia hail from 13 countries or regions, including Turkey and the Middle East.

This is an affirmation of NUS' strong international reputation, and a recognition of the University's quality education and world-class research. Mr Phil Baty, Editor, Times Higher Education Rankings, said, “The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and Asia University Rankings are the only global rankings to cover the full range of a modern world-class university's mission – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. We analyse around 50 million research paper citations and 6 million research papers, we gather hundreds of thousands of data points on hundreds of institutions, and we have collected the views of around 60,000 of the world's leading scholars to create our prestigious list.
