A blanket cap on board tenure would do more harm than good
Dr Alex Tan Tai Loong from the Institute of Policy Studies at NUS found that a full cap on tenure of company directors would carry too heavy a cost, as boards would have to lose qualified directors, even if they are still valuable members, and suggested for the limitation of terms of committees, such as audit and compensation, where independence is fundamentally important.
