Assoc Prof Mandar A. Chitre receives the IEEE OES Distinguished Technical Achievement Award

Associate Professor Mandar Anil Chitre, Head of the Acoustic Research Laboratory at the Tropical Marine Science Institute, was accorded the Distinguished Technical Achievement Award by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) for developing robust high-performance algorithms for wireless underwater communication and in-situ sensing networks.

“I deeply appreciate the recognition of my work by IEEE OES. Many researchers and engineers in my lab and at Subnero, the startup I co-founded to commercialise the technology, have contributed to the work over the past 15 years; this is a recognition of their work too. I am also very grateful to many colleagues, collaborators and funding agencies for their consistent support and funding to make this work possible,” said Assoc Prof Chitre, who is also from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NUS Engineering.
